The end of 1001 days

So the list ended 4 months ago.  Fifty-six items were completed during that time.  A lot has changed since that original list began.  Three years ago when it was written, I couldn't even fathom where we would be in our lives now.  It went by fast and hopefully our lives are acceptable to those two young newlyweds who had just bought a house and had just started their careers.

I think I want to do another list.  I will have to think on it.  Until then....so long for now!

089. Go for a walk at least twice a week for one month - Feb 2012

In anticipation of the arrival of our second child, we walked a lot during the month of February.  It was also unseasonably warm during this month so it made it very easy to walk around.

069. Attend the State Fair. - August 2011

We finally made it to the state fair in Nebraska.  My husband and I have been to the state fair in Minnesota before we were married, but never as a couple.  It was definitely a much smaller state fair than what we were used to.

019. Host friends at our home for dinner at least 4 times (4/4) - March 2012

Again between when this blog was started and when the 1001 days were finished we have hosted family and friends in our home for dinner.  Two of those times, we hosted a birthday party for our daughter.  We also hosted her baptism, we have hosted a Halloween get together with some friends. We have also just had some of our friends over for dinner.

016. Visit home at least 2 times a year (6/6) December 2011

Between when I started this list and when 1001 days were up, my husband and I visited home at least 4 times a year.  Most of them time it was either for a holiday or an event/party.

009. Create another scrapbook just because - March 2012

Even though it was not a full fledged paper scrapbook, I started doing scrapbooks on Shutterfly.  I have created two of them so far.  The two I have created are one for my daughter's first year of life and one as a review of the year of 2010.  I am working on 2011 as well as one for our new daughter and her first year of life.

005. Sew an item of clothing or something for the home. (December 2011)

I have recently started to sew again. My grandma taught me how to sew when I was around 10 and I really did enjoy sewing. However, between when she would have "summer classes" on how to sew and when I started to pick it up again by myself has been a long time coming. My daughter needed a new stocking for the holiday season. Last year, she used a "Baby's First Christmas" stocking, but that definitely would not have worked again this year - so off to the machine I went. It didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would for sewing, but I don't know if it will be her stocking for many years to come. As my husband pointed out, it is kind of a large stocking...I guess more gifts for her.

097. Buy a new purse. (November 2011)

I finally got around to purchasing a new purse as well. One of my friends recently became a consultant for 31 and they have a large number of different bags and purses in their line. This is where I purchased my new purse after carrying around one that was literally falling apart at the seams.

086. Chaperon a school event. (May 2011)

As stated previously, I was a chaperon/sponsor for a group of students and parents who traveled out to the Pacific Northwest. While out there, we visited Vancouver, Canada, and various sites around Seattle, Washington. It was definitely a trip full of many memories, and my first as an actual chaperon.

043. Travel and stay in a city I've never been to. (May 2011)

In May, I sponsored a group of students and parents on a band trip to the Pacific Northwest. While we were out west, we stayed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Staying in Vancouver was a lot of fun and definitely a city I have never stayed in before.
